Basic Counselling (9 Week Course)

BASIC COUNSELLING COURSE

Dates: 6th May – 1st July. (Every Tuesday Evening)
Time: 18h00 – 20h00
Venue: 32 Waterford Office Park, just off Witkoppen, Randburg.

Course to consist of 4 modules:

1. What is counseling about?
2. Basic skills and competencies in counselling
3. Making it real (practicing what we learnt)
4. Details and specifics (specifics related to The Sanctuary, how it works at The Sanctuary)

Course Material:

1. Basic Christian Counselling skills.
2. How to use a practical model for helping others to solve their problems.
3. To identify dangers and problems to avoid.
4. A deeper understanding of people.
5. To facilitate change in your client.
6. To be able to effectively lead someone to Christ through counselling.
7. Practical and logistics
8. Clear expectations – from both sides (Self awareness – what am I bringing)
9. Role and function as a counselor
10. Me as a counselor
11. Assessment and evaluation (rocks and pebbles)
12. Skills and referrals
